Auwahi Planting 12-22-2007 Excerpts

We are excited to return to Auwahi I to plant some special plants, the inconspicuous and dainty sprawling pea Vigna o-wahuensis. This vine used to grow along the leeward slopes of Haleakala, but is now very uncommon and is listed as endangered. Thanks to a recent discovery of a small population on Pu'u-ouli just above Auwahi, we have some keiki to plant into the first exclosure. We hope you enjoy this 3 minute video excerpt of our planting trip . Watch as we give back to the forest in a rewarding and meaningful way.
