Humpback Whale Highway was bumper to bumper along the southern coast of Maui near Makena and Oneola Beach.
Now just to clarify I am referring to the Humpback Whale traffic in some cases as close as 500 meters from shoreline.
There has been a high surf warning for north facing shores today and the public lifeguards at Makena’s Big beach were broadcasting warnings over the megaphone to novice boogy boarders and tourists unaware of the power of the shoreline break today.
The photo enclosed was shot on a different day from the ridge overlooking south towards Maui’s Makena. (Big Beach)
