Organic Spies conducted an undercover hidden camera sting of Whole Foods Market for selling unlabeled GMO foods.

This film shows why Whole Foods has given no money to Proposition 37, the California ballot initiative to label genetically engineered foods.

Whole Foods has sold unlabeled GMOs created by Monsanto for over a decade.

Whole Foods Market has endorsed Proposition 37, the California ballot initiative for our right to know about genetically engineered food, but it has done so with reservations that are strikingly similar to the lies the opposition has been spreading about “consumer confusion” and “costly litigation”. With friends like that, who needs enemies? Is Whole Foods really on our side?

Whole Foods isn’t chipping in to support the initiative financially. Could this be because the company is currently profiting from unlabeled genetically engineered food that’s fraudulently labeled “natural”? Whole Foods Market, as a consumer of organic and non-GMO foods, I’m confused by your flip-flops on the GMO labeling issue.

You claim to support mandatory GMO labels, but you admit to selling unlabeled genetically modified foods.

You claim to support Proposition 37, but you parrot the opposition’s lies about “consumer confusion” and “costly litigation” and you won’t contribute any money to fight Monsanto in California.

It’s really hard to tell what side you’re on!

Now Organic Spies’ new video comes out and I see your employees on hidden camera, lying to customers, insisting that Whole Foods would never sell genetically modified foods:

It’s really hard not to think that you’re trying to get away with something.

It’s clear that you benefit from selling overpriced, unlabeled, so-called “natural” versions of the same Monsanto-made genetically modified foods that the conventional grocery stores sell. And you’re a USDA certified “organic” retailer! I don’t know how you get away with it!

You must think we’re stupid. I guess you figure if we’re not smart enough to search your store for certified organic and non-GMO-verified products, then we deserve to eat unlabeled Frankenfoods.

That’s awfully cold-hearted, especially with the new study that’s just come out where rats fed Monsanto’s GMO “RoundUp Ready” corn developed enormous cancerous tumors at alarming rates. No one should be exposed to unlabeled genetically modified food!

I expect better from Whole Foods.

Please train your employees to tell consumers the truth about GMOs in your stores — better yet, get the GMOs out of your stores!
